A letter will be mailed to you with the date and time of your appointment.

The following is a list of the documentation that you will be REQUIRED to provide on the day of your appointment:

  1. Income: For all household members age 18 and older, both earned and unearned income; unearned income received on behalf of any minors in the household – for the most recent 90 days prior to your appointment. For Self-Employed – most recent completed IRS tax return, including Schedule C.
  2. Utility Bills – most recent original bills for gas and/or electric.
  3. Fuel – if your heating source is propane or bottled gas, kerosene or fuel oil, coal or wood – you will need to provide the vendor’s name and account number (if applicable) that provides your fuel.
  4. Disabled – if you, or a household member are disabled, proof of disability.
  5. Social security numbers will be required for all household members and proof of citizenship for the primary applicant.

The Winter Crisis Program provides financial assistance to low-income households that are threatened with disconnection of their heating source, have already had service disconnected; need to establish new service or pay to transfer service; or have 25% or less of the fuel capacity in their tank.

The Winter Crisis Program runs November 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012.

To be income eligible, a household must have total household income for the last 12 months or 90 days equal to or less than 200% of the federal poverty level guidelines.
