HEALTHY START

The Healthy Start program provides a health insurance card to children (from birth through age 18) and pregnant women. The insurance card covers a comprehensive set of health care services. 

Children can get a wide range of preventative health care services. For pregnant women, the insurance card covers the birth of your baby, and doctor visits before and after you have your baby.

To be eligible for Healthy Start you must:

• Be under the age of 19, with family income at or below 150% of the federal income level (200% if your family has no medical insurance), OR Be a pregnant woman or a woman who had a baby within the last 2 months, with family income at or below 150% of the federal poverty income level

• Be a resident of the State of Ohio

• Be a citizen of the United States (or meet certain citizenship requirements)

* All applications for assistance submitted for Healthy Start will be reviewed for eligibility for all covered families and children's Medicaid programs.
