Purpose Statement

The Geauga County Child Support Enforcement Division will respectfully serve both custodial and non-custodial parents and their children by the professional administration of their support order. Our ultimate goal is to promptly and accurately collect and distribute all support monies, process new and modified orders, and reflect other case status changes. We will utilize proven and innovative techniques to establish and enforce administrative and judicial support orders.

Payment information

The Interactive Voice Response (IVR) System is the phone-in telephone response system for the Ohio Child Support Program. The IVR system provides information on payment and balances as well as the telephone numbers and addresses of county CSEAs. The IVR telephone number is 1-800-860-2555.

To obtain balance information, you must enter your Social Security Number. If you have already established a PIN, you will be prompted to enter your PIN. If you have not established a PIN, you will be prompted to do so.

If you forget or lose your PIN please visit http://jfs.ohio.gov/Ocs/ivr.stm for instructions to reset your PIN.

Direct Deposit to Your Financial Institution

The Ohio Child Support Payment Central (CSPC) can deposit your child support payment directly in the financial institution you choose. Payments go directly into your account and you don't have to worry about waiting for the check to come in the mail. Your payment will be deposited automatically after the state receives and posts the payment for your case. The statement you receive from your financial institution will provide you with a record of your deposit. Always remember to make sure your payment has been deposited into your account before accessing the funds.

For a copy of the enrollment form, contact your county CSEA or call the state's Customer Inquiry Call Center at 1-800-686-1556. Enrollment takes approximately three weeks.

Case Information

When calling the Geauga County CSED for information about your case, please ask to speak to a child support case manager. Our phone number is 440-285-9141. Please have your case number or social security number available so the case manager can access your case promptly. Our hours are 8:00AM to 4:30PM, Monday through Friday.

Applying for Child Support Services

Completing an application for child support services (also known as a IV-D application) makes you eligible for the following services:

Location of Absent Parents

Establishment of Support Orders & Modification of Existing Child Support Orders

Enforcement of Court Ordered Support Orders

Federal and State Income Tax Refund Offset Submittal for the Collection of Child Support Arrearages.

Withholding of Wages and Unearned income for the Payment of Court Ordered Support

Establishment of Paternity (in cases of out-of -wedlock births)

Collection and Disbursement of Payments

Interstate Collection of Child Support

Additional Child Support Information

 In Geauga County there is no application fee for child support services. 

To be eligible for child support services in Geauga County you must either:

be a current resident of Geauga County, Ohio and no other Ohio county has jurisdiction over support

OR

you currently have a support order from Geauga County, and therefore Geauga County is the county of jurisdiction.

To request a child support services application from Geauga County please call 440-285-9141 and ask to speak to a child support case manager, or e-mail your request for an application with the following information: your name, complete address, home and work phone numbers. If you are receiving OWF or Medicaid there is no need to complete a child support services application, because you became eligible for child support services when you signed the OWF/Medicaid application.

Recipients of child support services must agree to cooperate to the best of their ability with the child support enforcement agency.

In providing IV-D services, the CSEA and any of its contracted agents (e.g., prosecutors, attorneys, hearing officers, etc.) represent the best interest of the children of the state of Ohio and do not represent any IV-D recipient or the IV-D recipient's personal interest.
