CHILD SUPPORT SUPERVISOR

Salary:                                     $32,469 - $35,568

Job Type:                                Full-Time

The primary purpose of the Child Support Supervisor is to supervise Child Support Case Managers in the agency, as well as to represent the agency in disputes over specific cases.  Assigns and reviews work; monitors progress of child support investigations; provides training and guidance to subordinates; conducts and attends meetings; conducts administrative hearings; prepares necessary case management/investigative reports and records concerning child support; performs budgeting functions; represents agency in the community; determines need for new staff; interviews applicants and makes recommendations for the hiring of new employees; initiates actions for the termination of employees; completes performance evaluations on subordinates work.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

- Two years experience as a Child Support Case Manager.

 - OR completion of two years technical training or undergraduate major core coursework in criminology, social work, psychology or related field.  ALSO REQUIRES two years investigative experience in a social service agency or similar environment.

- OR  one course or six months experience in interviewing techniques, one course or six months experience in business math, one course or six months experience in criminal investigations, one course or six months experience in case preparation techniques, one course or six months experience in criminal courts proceedings, one course or six months experience in techniques of writing, and one course in typing, keyboarding or word processing.  ALSO REQUIRES two years investigative experience in a social service agency or similar environment.

 

Other Requirements: 

Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license.

Must submit to a driver's license check.

Must submit to a BCI/FBI background check.

Must submit to a pre-employment drug test.  E.O.E.

 

 

SOCIAL SERVICES WORKER

Salary:                                   $30,888  -  $32,448

Job Type:                             Full-Time

The primary purpose of the Social Services Worker is to investigate claims of abuse and neglect of children and older adults.  In addition, prepares child and older adult related cases for court, participates in legal action to establish legal guardianship in cases related to older adults, meets procedural deadlines governing the management of social services set by the State of Ohio and ensures that this documentation is complete, and serves as an on-call social service worker (e.g., on weekends, holidays, after business hours).  Candidates must be comfortable with crisis intervention, flexible hours & possess good communication & writing skills. 

 Minimum Qualifications:

-   One year experience as a Social Services Worker 1.

-  Completion of undergraduate major core coursework or two years technical training in behavioral science, social science, early childhood development technology, education or related field.  Also requires one year of experience in a position similar to a Social Services Worker 1.

-  Or two courses in adult psychology one of which must be in the area of gerontology or twelve months experience, two courses or twelve months experience in child psychology, two courses in social welfare or other sociology related topic or twelve months experience, two courses or twelve months experience in counseling, one course or six months experience in interviewing techniques, one course or six months experience in domestic violence, and one course or six months experience in courtroom procedures.  Also requires one year of experience in a position similar to a Social Services Worker 1.

-  Or education, training, and/or experience in an amount equal to the Minimum Qualifications stated above.
