Summer Lunch Program

Summer Lunch Program

Now that’s what I’m talking about! Summer Lunch, a Claridon Community Helps program is focused on providing nutritional lunches for children. It will ensure that our kids are not going hungry and provide a sense of security to families around food stability during the summer months. Through this program lunch will be provided to all registered children school age and under in Claridon, Newbury and the area covered by Berkshire and Cardinal School District. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday a hot meal will be provided. On Monday and Wednesday bagged lunches will be provided for Tuesday and Thursday. There is NOT an income eligibility requirements to receive lunch. All children are welcome! Meals will only be given to children who are present not to parents or caregivers. Children must be registered to receive lunch.

Students and adults are welcome to join us at Claridon Congregational Church on Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday mornings. We will begin Friday, May 27and continue through Wednesday, August 17 in preparing lunches for the children in our communities! We arrive at 9 a.m. and are usually finished around noon.

Lunches will be delivered to a variety of locations in Thompson, Montville, Huntsburg, Middlefield, Parkman, Claridon, Burton, Troy and Newbury. Drivers are needed to deliver the lunches to children in these areas. Drivers need to arrive at the church by11:15 to pick up lunches. A driver will have 3 or 4 delivery locations and should be finished about 12:30.
