Summary:
Geauga County Job and Family Services is seeking a Training Officer for the Human Services Division. This role ensures staff are properly trained in public assistance programs, agency policies, and statewide systems. Responsibilities include developing training materials, conducting staff training, reviewing cases for accuracy, maintaining a caseload, and staying current on state and federal regulations.
Job duties include identifying training needs, providing training for staff, interpreting and communicating policy and system updates, maintaining desk aids and procedure guides, conducting quality control case reviews, troubleshooting policy or system issues, contributing to internal procedures, participating in statewide/regional meetings, and maintaining organized training documentation.
The ideal candidate communicates clearly, explains complex policies effectively, is detail oriented and adaptable, builds strong working relationships, and accurately applies public assistance rules.
Requirements:
-Completion of undergraduate major core coursework in behavioral science or social science or other academic field relevant to client services or in education and one year of experience in the subject matter for which the applicant will be hired to provide training.
OR
two courses or twelve months experience in behavioral science, social science, or education, two course or twelve months experience in communications. Also requires one year of experience in the subject matter for which the applicant will be hired to provide training.
OR
education, training and/or experience in an amount equal to the minimum qualifications stated above.
-Reading and speaking common English vocabulary.
-Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and good driving record.
-Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and FBI/BCI background checks.
